Abi
the Celebrant
I'm a wedding celebrant accredited by Humanists UK and am lucky enough to marry people all over the UK and beyond.
I'm delighted by all things creative, a sucker for long walks on the beach and anything involving chocolate.
I am a huge advocate for love and romance. Being one half of a multi-cultural couple myself, I fully understand the intricacies and brilliances of meeting your soul-mate in the unlikeliest of places.
I am also:
Proudly neurodivergent

Creative to my core

A mental health champion

Unapologetically cheery

What is a wedding Celebrant?
Good question!
A wedding celebrant is a trained professional who creates and officiates highly personalised wedding ceremonies, offering flexibility in content, location, and style. Unlike registrars or religious leaders, they focus on bespoke ceremonies tailored to the couple's story, allowing for unique rituals, vows, and themes. They don't have anything to do with catering, flowers, venue, music or wedding panning but they WILL work with wedding professionals to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony itself.
Everything brought me here . . .
My professional life has been varied and I've been lucky enough to work in the following areas:
-
Developing art and creativity in socially and economically deprived communities
-
Teaching mindfulness in schools and family settings
-
Providing peer support to new parents struggling with depression and anxiety
-
Writing and publishing five novels
-
Helping to spearhead a national partnership of charities providing perinatal mental health support
These things may seem like they're not connected but I know that on a deeper level they really are. They all embrace storytelling as something powerful. They all honour community for its potency. And they all embody creativity as a compelling form of expression.
Celebrancy, for me, is all about . . .
STORYTELLING - COMMUNITY - CREATIVITY
Why Weddings?
Bringing all of my skills together to help couples celebrate and share their love has got to be one of the best decisions I ever made. It is a huge honour to be invited in to share in such a remarkable moment and I treat every wedding ceremony with the utmost degrees of intrigue, commitment and care.
